Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli products, including sandwiches, salads, and hot food items
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Upsell deli products and promote special offers or promotions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including food preparation surfaces, equipment, and utensils
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safety of customers and coworkers
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately using the POS system
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking deli products
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of the deli department
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a culinary or food service role is preferred but not required
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing customer preferences and department needs
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
