Summary:
The Project Portfolio Manager (PPM) centralizes coordination of processes, methods, and technologies necessary to collectively oversee and support management of a set of current or proposed projects or programs that are grouped together to meet strategic business objectives. Manages change control and prioritization for moving investments into the mainstream program execution workflow by grooming project and epic backlogs. Determines the optimal resource mix with functional managers for project execution and manages roadmap activities to best achieve an organization’s operational and financial goals while honoring constraints imposed by customers, budgets, strategic objectives, or external real-world factors. Works with leadership, business and operations to define, govern, and control incremental project work. Provides decision support to product portfolio leaders by performing analysis and reporting project portfolio performance, dependencies, risks and opportunities. Works to mature the enterprise portfolio management process, adhere to enterprise portfolio management requirements, and adhere to the integrated planning process and Solution Lifecycle Management requirements of the organization.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as the primary interface between business and service units.
- Establishes partnerships and relationships with internal customers, stakeholders and peers to ensure results are achieved
- Ensures transparent, professional communication of project portfolio execution status on a regular basis with details broken down as requested by stakeholders
- Collects relevant metrics that help Digital Aviation leaders make decision on work priority and timing
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Digital Aviation policies and procedures that typically affect individual contributors. Basic knowledge of financial management skills. Knowledge of project/program management skills and business analysis/portfolio management best practices.
- Problem Solving: Develops solutions to a variety of problems of high scope and complexity. Knowledge of internal and industry practices and procedures is engrained. Participates on problem solving activities with teams.
- Discretion: Works under limited direction. Requires no instruction for routine work, new lines of work or special assignments. Participates in determining details of assignments to accomplish a wide range of objectives.
- Liaison: Frequent contacts with internal personnel and partners to align operations, schedules, resources or specific phases of projects or contracts. Requires advanced networking and communications skills.
- Typical Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or equivalence in progressively more responsible leadership roles with PMP certification, or the equivalent knowledge and experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Portfolio Management discipline or equivalent position

- Familiarity with the Data Solutions portfolio management process
- Knowledge of GNST and GNS working organization
