Responsibilities

  • Consistently prepare quality baked goods from standard recipes
  • Adhere to presentation standards, health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
  • Execute opening and closing operations during scheduled shifts. May work as late as 8 pm in an 8-hour shift
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high-volume, keep Bakery operating to standard
  • Assist guests with product selection, be able to answer questions regarding preparation and ingredients

Requirements

  • A passion for baking
  • At least six (6) months of professional baking and cake decorating experience is required
  • Scratch Baking & Pastry-making experience, to include making Pie crust in volume, consistent cookie dough
  • Food safe certified by the State of Idaho
  • Ability to comprehend instruction, recipes, and perform simple mathematical operations
  • Ability to build relationships and learn quickly
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Comply with all departmental policies and procedures
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a grocery store setting with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
