General Summary of Duties: Responsible for general mechanical and preventive maintenance including inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of the equipment and facilities of the clinic.
Examples of Duties:
- Meets daily with supervisor to discuss special needs, problems, assignments.
- Performs routine and specific assignments including repairing, overhauling equipment such as autoclaves.
- Cleans and repairs fans and air conditioners, carts, and other wheeled equipment.
- Services plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
- Installs, operates, and tests new equipment. Assembles, moves, and installs furniture and fixtures.
- Repairs desks, filing cabinets, chairs, and other furniture and fixtures.
- Installs and repairs floor and wall coverings.
- assists other staff in handling materials on major repair or installation projects.
- Assists with electrical work under supervision including performing electrical safety checks of equipment and testing generators and emergency equipment. maintains an adequate supply of inventories such items as filters, lamps, and plumbing parts.
- Keeps Assistant Administrator informed of any unsafe items it conditions and makes recommendations about new equipment.
- Attends required meetings and participants in committees as requested.
- Enhances professional growth and development through in-service meetings and education programs.
- Performs related work as required.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: One year of maintenance mechanical experience.
