What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extrusion Operator 1 3rd Shift position at BONNELL ALUMINUM?
3rd Shift Sunday night to Wednesday night 9pm to 7am.
Thursday night could be scheduled.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS - General Duties/Responsibilities/Task Extrusion Operators May Be Assigned:
Loading and Starting of Age Ovens.
- Load all racks from saw onto appropriate age line by temper.
- Take all no bake (T1, T4) directly to the packing or fabrication department.
- Start age oven when they are full checking with posted chart for baking instructions by temper.
- Monitoring and Emptying of all Press Scrap.
- Monitor and remove butt hopper and both scrap hoppers for log saw.
- Monitor and remove extrusion saw scrap.
Saw Crew and Extrusion Material Handler.
- Staging of racks.
- Load metal and spacers into racks.
- Assure saw crew has all needed supplies. (Spacers, foam, cardboard, racks)
Perform Stretching Operation
- Input stretcher parameters for each new order.
- If the shape is a brand new one or no numbers are in the book consult the supervisor.
- After clamping ensure parts are adequately in both ends before stretching.
- Initiate Auto-stretch.
- Visually monitor parts for over-stretch condition, which is usually signaled by “orange peel”.
- Visually monitor parts for under-stretch condition which is usually signaled by bowed or twisted metal.
- Inform supervisor and/or inspector when a problem occurs. (Bow, twist, orange peel, or hot metal)
- Inform supervisor of any maintenance or safety concerns with the stretcher.
Keep Work Areas Clean and Safe. (5S)
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervision or lead.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to read and understand a tape measure.
- Must be able to operate the overhead crane.
- Must be able to drive Combi/Forklift
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to read and understand shop order
Salary : $31,800 - $40,200
