Job Description
Commission Based with uncapped income potential plus bonuses.
Responsible for Sales of cemetery property and pre-arranged funeral plans. Develops relationships with families by providing quality service, personal attention, product and service knowledge, and sales follow-through.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- 60% company provided leads and 40% self-prospected.
- At-Need arrangements –
- Assists families with making purchases of cemetery property, urns, vaults, memorial markers and other related items and assist them with understanding financial obligations.
- Teams-up with the Funeral Director to determine family needs through active listening and questioning.
- Follows-up with at-need families to make preneed sales and maintains proper follow-up records.
- Ensures that all authorizations are properly signed prior to the opening of a burial space.
- Follows protocol with every family by using our Cycle of Excellence guidelines, including the use of Care Contacts.
- Knows and understands all cemetery rules and regulations and explain them to families in a positive and supportive manner.
- Conducts cemetery blind-checks and lead-ins (when needed).
- Preneed arrangements –
- Offers and sells preneed cemetery and funeral arrangements by presenting our preneed program to families in their homes or in the funeral home.
- Attends all sales meetings, group training events and required prospecting sessions.
- Available and present to assist families who visit the cemetery over the entire Memorial Day weekend.
- Dresses and grooms professionally.
- Maintains preneed sales volume at or above the minimum levels required.
- Maintains company materials in an orderly, professional manner.
- Performs duties in independent and expeditious manner with minimal supervision, while continuing to develop sales skills through knowledge of company, competitors, and the industry.

Education/Experience
Minimum one-year customer service. Previous experience in sales preferred.
Math Ability
Ability to calculate cost estimates and calculations of percentages.
Computer Skills
Experience with Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Certificates and Licenses
Valid Washington driver's license.
Washington insurance license or the ability to obtain one prior to start.

- Paid Sick and Safe Leave Policy: Hourly and exempt employees accrue paid sick leave in accordance with state and local laws.
- Holidays: 8 paid days, but open during certain holidays as stated below:
- Washington Memorial Park & Mortuary: Open on all holidays except New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
- Satellite Locations: Closed on all holidays except President’s Day and Veteran’s Day when they will maintain regularly scheduled business hours.
- Employees who work holidays may take another day off with prior approval.
Other compensation: Employees have the opportunity to earn:
- Quarterly bonuses under the Company’s Quarterly Incentive Plan, subject to Plan eligibility requirements.

- Pre-Need Cemetery Benefits: Following three years of continuous service in good standing, employees may be eligible for pre-need cemetery benefits.
