Bonnie Plants is a national leading brand specializing in the growing and distribution of vegetable plants. Our clients range from big box retailers, such as Home Depot and Lowe's.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire a few part-time Garden Merchandisers to join our team. Your job will be to care for and display our plants during the upcoming sales season, beginning March-July 25.
Timeline will vary according to your availability and desired work schedule. We are happy to coordinate with you to build a schedule that works for you. We operate every day of the week, with peak hours being weekends and during the month of May. Availability on Mothers Day and Memorial Day weekend are desired.
SCHEDULE
Daily schedules are flexible (usually starting around 7am) and run until plants are cared for, which will be highly variable. Some days will be 1-3 hours, some will be 8-10 hours. Peak hours will take place in May, while hours in March and July tend to be less. It is possible to accommodate those who wish to work more or less hours. This position will start March 20th and run through July 25.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organizing plant displays
- Identifying and removing old/dead/bad product
- Stocking fresh product
- Pushing/pulling of rolling carts (which can be heavy)
- Assisting customer with questions on plants
- Communicating with management via smartphone (required)
- Soft skills required: Punctuality, dependability, and commitment
Training will be provided on standard procedures as well as plant health and care. Experience gardening is a plus!
Please note: the moving and unloading of rolling carts requires physical capability. We ask that you be confident in your ability to push, pull, and be on your feet for the duration of the shift. Weather conditions will also present heat and cold challenges, along with rain/snow for the duration of a shift at times.
