The Finance Manager will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager, business partnering with the Commercial Sales Director and the Commercial team. Areas of business partnership will be all aspects of reporting, forecast, variance analysis, KPI tracking and special project including new business and trade management. The successful candidate will initiate analyses designed to improve operating performance and will effectively and persuasively communicate analyses and recommendation to all levels of management. This role requires significant accuracy and attention to detail as well as creative problem solving abilities. The individual will play a key role in partnering with the Commercial team in driving the growth agenda of the organization.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance lead for new customer accounts. Analyze financial results versus forecast, plan and prior year, and investigate variances, assessing risk and opportunities. Provide leadership with latest estimates; analysis of business trends, and deliver meaningful business insights through the presentation of financial results to the Global Brands Americas Leadership team and to the Commercial team.- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the business drivers of Gross and Net Sales and Trade/Sales Promotional spending for the Commercial team
- Partner with the Commercial team to maximize trade spend efficiency, as well as, oversee expenditure requests, approval, and tracking
- Collaborate with other departments (Marketing and Supply Chain teams), gather data to conduct and review financial analysis on promotional activity of trade and marketing spend and incremental sales lift associated with the promotional spend
- Develop Pre-and post-event Sales Return on Investment (ROI) trackers and KPI’s
- Track, forecast and report on Gross/Net sales and trade spend by lever, customer, product category, month and year
- As part of the finance team help implement new trade fund management tool, supporting both implementation, execution, and ongoing operations
- Create sophisticated models that provide financial analysis and decision support to senior leadership on key business issues; propose potential solutions to complex problems across all aspects of the organization
- Work with manager to step-change improvement to the efficiency of existing processes, and improve the quality of insights delivered
- Manage a Finance Analyst
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, MBA preferred- 5-7 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility; preferably in the Consumer Packaged Goods or Beauty Industries.
- Change agent who will drive development and improvements in trade fund management and ROI
- Flexibility to not only synthesize data across different sources but utilize data and reporting to influence and drive commercial agenda and execute at a high capacity in a highly dynamic function
- Very proficient in Excel, including complex formulas, macros, and pivot tables in order to manipulate large amounts of data
- Ability to build ad hoc Excel based tracking and forecasting models and templates to help business partners track forecast and Sales by customer/brand
- System implementation a plus
- Excellent analytical and financial problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of finance concepts and accounting principles
- Exceptional communication skills, organization techniques and attention to detail
