As a database developer, with a solid background in developing, testing, improving, and maintaining new and existing databases, you know how to manage and secure database technology. On our team, you’ll design stable, reliable, and effective databases, optimize and maintain legacy systems, modify databases according to requests and perform tests, and solve database usage issues and malfunctions. You’ll provide your client with peace of mind as you assist with implementing policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You’ll use technology and tools like Microsoft structured query language (SQL) to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical database.
In this role, you’ll closely impact Veterans Affairs by communicating with developers to improve applications and establish best practices for database design and integration. With your technical expertise, mentoring, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we’ll focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

You Have:
- 5 years of experience in database development
- Experience with database technologies, including Microsoft SQL, or Amazon RDS for SQL Server
- Experience with database design, documentation, and coding
- Experience with database standards and end user applications
- Knowledge of data modeling and SQL
- Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications
- Ability to understand front-end user requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience developing and deploying database solutions in AWS
- Experience building solutions using NoSQL databases such as Amazon DynamoDB
- Experience working with open-source and commercial database technologies, including Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
- Experience with the Agile software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Experience gathering user requirements and identify new features
- Knowledge of Python and Node.JS
- Knowledge of API programming languages
- Ability to research and suggest new database solutions and services

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
