What are the responsibilities and job description for the Multi-Sport Counselor position at Boreal Ridge Corporation?
Position Summary:
The Multi-Sport Counselor's mission is to foster a positive and nurturing environment for kids while at camp. Counselors are expected to teach campers in all aspects of Mountain Bike/ BMX/ Skate/ Scooter riding and parkour relative to the camper's ability. Applicants must have strong skills within their sport and strong communication skills.
Counselors instruct campers in their sport/activity and they are responsible for up to 10 campers between the ages of 5-17. Further, they are responsible for the daily needs of each camper when they are not in instructional sessions. This includes eating meals with them, making sure they get to activities on time, helping them call home, etc.
Action Sports Counselors have specific duties related to helping kids check-in and orient them to camp, enforce rules, etc. Counselors must present a neat and well-kept appearance during their stay at Woodward Tahoe and be a role model in character and behavior. Although you are hired on as a Sport Counselor, this position is ever changing and you must be able to complete multiple jobs at any given time while at camp.
All camp employees are role models to our campers and should be prepared to represent the Woodward brand to the highest standard.

The Deets (Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities):
- Develop caring relationships with campers and help provide the best camp experience
- Make sure the basic needs of your campers are met
- Provide high quality instruction for safe skill progression and a fun learning environment
- Care for homesick campers and inform appropriate staff
- Communicate with medical staff regarding injuries and special needs
- Facilitate disbursement of medication through the Camp Nurse
- Understand and be aware of allergies and other special needs of your campers
- Participate in recreation activities with enthusiasm and encourage campers to do the same
- Check in arriving campers each day and be aware of all procedures
- Assist with daily checkout of campers
- General cleaning and maintenance of facilities including the Bunker, Mess hall, and campus
- Maintain a positive attitude and arrive to shifts on time
- Uphold highest standard of professionalism in appearance and behavior at all times
- Behave in a manner appropriate to our youngest campers (5 years old)
- Help in the Mess hall, the Bunker, and around campus doing various jobs
- Other duties as assigned

- Organizes tasks and prioritizes personal time and work to have a good balance
- Background check
- Up to date resume
- Current CPR and first aid certification preferred
- Experience working with younger children preferred
- Summer camp experience preferred
- Action sports experience required
