Job Description
The student will collaborate with a team to gather data for driver assistance systems for multiple OEM projects. The student will work with test equipment to test driver assistance functions according to different specifications and requirements. This is a hands-on problem solving role that includes time spent at both the proving ground ( Flat Rock, Mi ) and office environment.
Main Responsibility:
- Work within a team to maintain, update and use current ADAS equipment.
- Use electrical knowledge to create or modify electrical cables or harnesses.
- Support performance verification of ADAS systems at the vehicle level and against defined requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently enrolled in a Associates degree with significant Electronics, Computer coursework already completed.
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Interested in the automotive industry, specifically driver assistance technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, test procedures, Electrical schematics and Electronic diagrams.
- Electrical hands on experience (Soldering, replacing connectors, making new cables)
- Must be able to work 8am-4:30pm at least 2 days per week.
- Ability to learn new procedures and tasks quickly.
- Customer focused mindset.
- Must be on time.
- Must be able to pass a dynamic driving test.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Prefers working in a team environment, but is flexible and self-motivated.
- Possess the capability to take initiative to solve issues with attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelors of engineering degree ( Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical).
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Knowledge of vehicle electronics, including vehicle communication systems (CAN, Vector products).
- CAD experience or general design experience
- Knowledge of vehicle test methods, tools and procedures (DVP&R, NHTSA/EU-NCAP Procedures, ABD etc.).
- Ability to program scripts (e.g. C-Code, Visual Basic, raspberry pi programming).
- Automotive experience (Personal experience, Baja club, Formula, etc.)
- Driving experience such as Autocross or other racetrack experience.
- Vehicle Hoist Experience.
- Experience towing trailers, boats, etc.
