Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Sr. Quality Engineer is responsible to support the internal and external customer for all Quality topics. Major tasks are to improve Quality KPIs and the customer experience through product testing and coordination of quality improvement activities.
- Lead and coordinate customer specific quality projects and cross functional quality improvement projects, including coordination of containment and certified stock activities at the customer.
- Lead and coordinate communications on product quality issues, including potential serious complaints or potential field service actions.
- Lead warranty and customer claim activities in order to reduce claims, including hands on part testing
- Maintain and promote an open, fast and continuous communication with customers in order to gain and maintain customer trust: Including, acting as the point of contact between customer and plant/ organization in the event of escalations.
- Organize and participate in customer meetings and visits, including 0km and launch support, warranty activities, customer quality conferences, etc.
- Lead Problem Solving activities by using standard Problem Solving Methods.
- Initiate customer lessons learned processes across affected sites, including implementation and long term sustainability
- Monitor and document applicable customer and Quality KPIs in internal and customer systems
- Lead and present Quality activities and data analysis to internal and external customers.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of reports to top management.
- Perform regular data analysis to identify and execute proactive and preventive Q4.0 improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other technical automotive required.
- 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering providing support to external and internal customers with an automotive focus;
- Manufacturing plant experience preferred, but optional.
- Knowledge of wiper motors, wiper assemblies and wiper blades preferred
- SAP – Quality Module experience highly preferred;
- Experience in Quality tools such as 8D’s, PPAP, APQP, customer requirements, customer portal navigation, warranty analysis and tracking, amongst others.
- Demonstrated skills in or certification in systematic problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience in digitalization tools and data analysis for reporting and improvement activities.
- Experienced project leader, including working within cross functional teams.
- Responsible, accountable, and independent worker and self-starter who is customer and relationship focused, yet analytical and persuasive with a positive attitude and works with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to communicate with various areas (Engineering, Program Management, Plant Quality, etc.) on multiple levels both internally and with the customer.
- Willingness and flexibility for travel to Bosch or customer sites domestically and internationally, as needed and for product trainings.
- Estimated travel up to 25%

- Position currently participates in Smart Work. Depending on the activities for the team additional in person time can be anticipated at times.
- May occasionally have to lift up to 50 pounds, including occasional bending and stretching.
- May have to sit or stand for extended periods of time when attending conference calls or customer visits.
