What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager position at Bottle Republic?
The Assistant store manager will provide daily direction and leadership to all store staff members. Emphasizing our management strategy, striving for operational excellence and efficiency, developing an enjoyable work environment while delivering the best guest experience possible is the deliverable.
Must have prior management and industry experience.
- Works closely with ownership to bring real world feedback on sales, customer satisfaction, staff, and operational effectiveness to help adapt and create new ways to improve our business.
- On the floor presence in key customer windows to help develop sales and a loyal customer base. This would include Friday and Saturday prime hours.
- Ability to understand staff duties, manage to meet expectation, and in a pinch do any role in the store when necessary.
- Ensures that all staff are properly trained in all aspects of their job functions, policies and procedures, and that they are supported in their career development process
- Maintains a work environment that promotes teamwork, high performance, continuous improvement, feedback, recognition, commitment to guest experience, mutual respect and employee satisfaction
- Assure day to day shifts run smoothly. Manage scheduling issues. We use a central tool to publish weekly schedules but if there is a call out or unexpected problem, be ready to find coverage or when needed escalate to ownership
- Partner with the ownership and our stocking/merchandiser teams to plan for and address stock assortments, stock levels, and merchandising needs on a continual basis
- Take physical inventory and be able to reorder non-alcohol items like cigarettes, cheeses, cigars, sodas, juices, mixers, etc. Create purchase orders to document and receive against.
- Organizes staff in the process of taking inventory and cycle counts when needed.
- Monitor and request/reorder store supplies such as cleaning materials, bathroom supplies, box cutters, etc.
- Understand how to see and determine when shrinkage is occurring. This will involve both physical counts, inventory reports, and some analysis. Escalate when needed.
- Assure store opening and closing procedure is adhered to by all staff members that take on that responsibility
- Manages store cleanliness and merchandising execution to maximize sales, earnings, and guest satisfaction
- Manages sales floor standards, visual merchandising, guest experience standards, and sales techniques
- Maintains strict confidentiality of company information and operations
- Understands and helps to maintain policies, internal controls, operational standards and procedures to promote compliance
- Sample new products from distributors and be a key part of the recommendation team for adding new items to our portfolio
- Train staff on the importance and benefits of our Republic club and assure that all cashiers always ask customers if they would like to join or are already a member
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
