Bottom Line Hospitality is seeking a full-time HR Assistant to directly support their teams in NYC. This is an on-site hourly position. Successful candidates must live in commuting distance to NYC.
This HR Assistant's duties involve a wide range of support activities inside the organization, from coordinating meetings to maintaining the employee database to posting job ads to onboarding/orientation -- and more. An important part of this role will be ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions from employees. The HR Assistant will also assist in creating policies, processes, and documents.
Successful candidates will have excellent administrative & organizational skills, familiarity with HR software, and superior communication skills. To be an ideal candidate for this position, you should also have some prior experience working in a human resources function. You must be able to work autonomously and remain calm under the pressure of competing priorities and multiple deadlines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with day-to-day HR functions and duties
- Provide data-entry and administrative support to our client team
- Compile and update employee records (physical and electronic copies)
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to employee activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc)
- Resolve employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc)
- Coordinate communication with job candidates and schedule interviews
- Assist with initial orientation to newly hired employees
- Coordinate other related HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc)
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS
- 3 years' prior experience in relevant human resources/administrative position
- Fast and accurate data entry skills
- Familiarity with HR software and resume database systems
- Practical knowledge of employment laws
- Excellent organizational skills
- Superior communications skills
- Degree or certification in Human Resources or related field is preferred
