Commercial Litigation And Arbitration Assistant Requirements
- 5 years of experience in litigation and arbitration litigation preferred
- Proficiency in Timeslips, Worldox, Office 365, CourtMap, e-file, and cmecf
- High School Diploma required - Bachelor s degree or paralegal certification is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Manage a caseload of approximately 100 cases, including litigation, pre-litigation, demand letters, and settlement discussions
- Open new matters following established procedures
- Calendar deadlines correctly for federal and state courts, including complex business litigation
- Confirm and maintain calendared items
- Prepare binders for hearings and assist attorneys in gathering materials
- File court documents and serve opposing parties
- Schedule depositions, mediations, and other legal appointments
- Arrange court reporters and prepare airway bills for courier mailings
- Answer telephones professionally and courteously
- Collaborate with other legal assistants to manage rush or emergency tasks
- Assist with attorneys travel arrangements
