What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health & Addiction Reporter position at okstate?
KOSU seeks a multimedia journalist to work as a Mental Health & Addiction Reporter. The ideal candidate will have an established portfolio of reporting on mental health and addiction issues or another beat that demonstrates an ability to tell nuanced and engaging stories. Public radio experience is a plus but is not required. The person will be an accomplished reporter who is eager to bring awareness of mental health and addiction to the community, including engagement activities. In addition, the candidate should have experience building trusting relationships in news deserts and/or with populations of people who may have previous negative experience with traditional media.
News reporting will often require travel. The person is expected to be on call for breaking news events. Occasional work after hours or on weekends will be required.
Person must have ability to walk long distances while carrying broadcast equipment weighing 10 pounds.
Salary : $42,000 - $45,000
