What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator position at Bradford White?
Primary Function:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the flow of material across the shipping/receiving docks and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of paperwork and material transactions for all shipments and receipts. The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator also plays an important role in communicating information between the warehouse, production, logistics, quality, purchasing, and material planning.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and prioritizes the movement of inbound/outbound trailers and materials across different docks throughout the facility
- Processes inbound/outbound truckload, LTL, and UPS/FedEx shipments
- Communicates with security guards and instructs them where to have truck drivers deliver trailers as they arrive onsite, assigns dock door or directs them to drop trailer in the yard
- Utilizes computer and handheld scanner to process receipts and shipments through Oracle EBS system, and uses other applications such as trailer tracker and yard switcher app
- Ensures timely and accurate shipments of outbound products, generates packing lists and BOL, verifies all physical contents against paperwork, and verifies material transactions
- Monitors the status of any hot shipments to ensure they are processed without delay, provides communication updates throughout the shift, and escalates any concerns
- Provides material handling team with direction and prioritization of materials needing to be processed throughout the shift
- Ensures timely and accurate receipt of inbound shipments, verifies counts and visually inspects all physical contents against the PO and packing list, escalates any discrepancies or damage
- Ensures products are received, properly labeled, and staged in the appropriate area, ready to be put away in the warehouse or delivered to designated storage location
- Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area
- Ensure the shipping/receiving docks are cleared timely and utilize organizational tools such as inventory control cones and lanes for product identification
- Creates and distributes end of shift pass down email to communicate status updates to the team, and notification of any new or open concerns requiring follow up
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, and/or warehousing
- Must be able to work effectively in a computer environment
- Strong math and problem-solving skills to be applied in a manufacturing environment
- Situational leadership, ethics, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cultural competency
- Must have effective communication skills to clearly communicate information to others, to include management
- Strong customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up
- Ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas
- Ability to multi-task, take initiative, make decisions, work to plan, and delegate as needed
- High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
