JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Middle School Student Council
Location: Central
Reports To: Principal, Assistant Principal
FLSA Class: Exempt
Revised Date: May, 2018
Purpose:
To organize and supervise the members of the high school student council and to follow the policies and procedures of BESD #61.
Duties
- Initiate and assist with the elections of Student Council officers.
- Supervise all Student Council projects and meetings.
- Supervise the collection and expenditures of Student Council funds.
- Coordinate activities with the Building Principal or Activities Director.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding the progress and development of the group.
- Prepare a detailed report highlighting the activity accomplishments, participation levels and recommendations for improvement of the activity.
- Perform other duties or tasks related to student council.
- May be responsible for supervising students during out-of-town activities. This may involve staying overnight and driving a district vehicle.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Follow board policies and administrative rules and regulations.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions
- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods without fatigue or discomfort.
- Must be able to lift loads as needed.
- Must be able to tolerate loud noise.
- Some employees may be occupationally exposed to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials based on task and procedures required.
- Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
- Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques. 4. Adhere to all district health and safety policies.
- Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements of the various governmental agencies.
- Perform all duties required by state and federal statutes and by Board of Education policy and action.
