Human Resources Coordinator

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of HR

Job Summary:

Since announcing the Company’s Vision and Values in 2019, Braen has worked to implement programs that will both grow and sustain a values-based culture within our workplace. These efforts are the driving force behind our corporate initiatives. It is essential that the HR Coordinator fully embrace, support and champion the Vision and Values at Braen while supporting the Human Resources and Payroll department with administrative tasks and projects. In addition, this individual will assist with executing employee events and programs- while always following the Company’s core values of Service, Integrity and Respect.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages HR digital marketing communications – design, manage and organize the content for the digital TV Screen communications.
  • Various HR and PR scanning, filing and projects.
    • Scan life insurance DOB forms into an electronic file
    • Audit and maintain I-9 folders, removing terminated employees.
    • Routinely organize in house HR terminated files, maintaining all active
    • Prepare new hire orientation material (onboarding documents union & non-union)
    • Scanning new hire paperwork into personnel files
  • Order and distribute monthly fresh snacks for Haledon and Wanaque Supply locations
  • Maintain the new hire bag Braen swag items/monitor quantity levels.
  • Retrieve daily HR mail from main office.
  • Assist with quarterly ‘Meet & Greet’ events.
  • Send employee sympathy cards when necessary.
  • Assist in ordering supplies for job fairs and HR events (balloons, snacks)
  • Distribute AOE Kits monthly.
  • Assist with Turkey distribution.
  • Participate with Health Screening events.
  • Assist the Sr. HR Generalist with labor law poster notices.
  • Support all HR special employee events (i.e. picnic, Meet& Greets, Christmas party, annual team-building)
  • Support Values Award Program
  • Various department related tasks supporting the HR Manager, Sr. HR Generalist and Payroll/401K Administrator.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, in accordance with the Braen Vision & Values.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, knowledge of Adobe products.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in human resource management preferred.
  • Must be creative, graphic design experience/interest, a plus.
  • Evenings and weekends occasionally needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Must be able to physically set-up for corporate events and functions.
