THE OPPORTUNITY
About The Role
You will set design strategy and priorities on your team to evolve the experience to increase conversion rate for buyers using our desktop and mobile web experience. You’ll also collaborate with designers across product teams to help unify the work to ensure it aligns with our overall vision.
Requirements
Must-Haves
- You can run your design process independently
- You effectively articulate ideas and design solutions
- You express feedback with understanding and clarity
- You have a tolerance for ambiguity and a healthy curiosity
- You can translate quantitative & qualitative insights into design decisions
- You have a track record of designing complex flows and customer journeys
- You have experience designing for desktop and mobile web platforms
- You are trained to use Figma, the design tool they all use
- You regularly make use of your soft skills: listening, negotiating, decision-making
- You contribute to our culture: motivation, optimism, quality, integrity
Nice-to-Haves
- You can think and design at a system level, not just interface elements or pages
- You can lead workshops and effectively align the group around a vision and approach
- You have experience mentoring other designers
About The Team
The Buyer Experiences Team helps buyers navigate our vast global marketplace. They build features to help our client's buyers narrow in on items based on their interests and hobbies–connecting them with items that are personalized and just right for them. Our designers craft top notch experiences by testing new ways to help buyers confidently make a purchase and engage more with over time, while improving our topline company health metrics via user research, testing, and iterative experimentation.
The cross-functional team has 10 people on it, and is made up of Product Management, Product Design, Data Analytics, User Research, and Engineering. They will look to you to share your deep knowledge of UX patterns and bring a tried and tested set of processes to design solutions to a range of customer problems to introduce 89 million active buyers to the breadth and depth of our client’s global marketplace.

Details/Notes
- This is a leave request while an IC does a manager rotation and an IC goes on parental leave
- Open to remote or flex. Office-based in Brooklyn works, but not needed. Note: some team members are office-based, but this role's primary partner is remote in Mexico.
- Time zone would ideally be ET or CT
- Interview process: 1. Hiring Manager screen (30 min), 2. case study review (1 hr) and 3. Product Manager interview (30 min)
