What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freight Broker position at Branch Brokerage?
In the role of a Freight Broker you will work with trucking company owners, dispatchers and drivers (known as carriers) to coordinate customer shipments. You will also be responsible for developing carrier relationships and negotiating competitive rates while achieving revenue and margin goals. This role combines sales, & supply chain planning by ensuring that freight is picked up, transported, and delivered on time.
- Solicit new and existing customers for freight – making 100 or more outbound calls per day.
- Negotiate rates
- Build and maintain customer relationships
- Process customer orders timely and accurately
- Track all managed and booked shipments – updating clients as needed
- Forecast deliveries and set appointments
Necessary skills/qualifications:
- Sales mindset with a drive to succeed – must have thick skin
- Experience in transportation preferred – we are willing to train the right person
- Able to communicate with both drivers, customers, and multiple levels of management
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to quickly change priorities
- Team oriented with good customer service skills
- Computer and technology savvy

Pay: $22,834.00 - $152,653.00 per year
