Launch Manager Job Description
Reports To: Director of Launch Management
Department: Program Management
POSITION SUMMARY: The Launch Manger is responsible to lead the program team(s) through the program life cycle in order to achieve customer expectations and company targets for all assigned program(s).
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Preferred), Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Management.
- 5-10 years’ experience in project management or comparable experience. Previous Automotive experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a global environment.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and functioning as a highly competent professional, work involves independent problem solving and decision-making ability.
- Ability to represent technical topics internally and externally.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite including MS Project.
- Comprehensive knowledge of product development engineering practices in automotive field, manufacturing of electronics, financial analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge in planned and structured approach.
- Comprehensive knowledge of problem solving.
- Comprehensive knowledge of configuration management and project monitoring and control techniques.
DUTIES:
- Ensures engineering and manufacturing targets (BOM cost, quality, cycle times, delivery timing, tooling, performance, project engineering budget, etc.) for all assigned programs are met. Documents and monitors program objectives.
- Provides technical leadership in directing the efforts of cross-functional project team in the development and production release of all relevant project deliverables in compliance with the product development process and customer expectations. Ensures countermeasures are initiated to correct unfavorable variances.
- Ensures ME PDP timing plans, defect / issues list, risk assessments are created and maintained and provide project status for program reviews (e.g., gate, milestones, launch readiness, etc.) according to program timing for all assigned programs per ME PDP.
- Ensures all pre-production deliveries are completed and on time to the customer requirements.
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts, research, recommends and initiates implementation of enhancements to products, processes, and programs. Works to maintain and improve contribution margin goals for the assigned programs.
- Works with internal and external resources to maintain strong customer relationships with dedication to customer program schedules. Ensures countermeasures are initiated to correct unfavorable variances by communicating alternative measures to the customer which may be used to solve engineering problems.
- Generates and maintains all necessary documentation and data and systems in all areas / programs responsible to ensure traceability and compliance to Company procedures.
- Other duties as required.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
