The Supervisor, Health Information Management is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all aspects of the scanning and document retrieval Health Information Management (HIM) Department. S/he will manage operations to ensure maximum productivity and quality standards are met. S/he will be responsible for adjusting work assignments as needed to cover peak periods, leaves, and vacancies. S/he will also have the responsibility to prioritize work to ensure the daily completion of scanning and document retrieval tasks.
Your day will be very busy… you will:
- Responsible for managing, supervising, and training the Health Information Management Team. Including schedule management, achievement of KPI’s, competencies and holding the employees accountable for following all Breg policies, procedures, work instructions and SOPs.
- Manages workflow among Health Information Management Department to ensure maximum productivity, compliance, and quality standards are met. Adjusts work assignments as needed to cover peak periods, leaves, and vacancies. Prioritizes work to ensure completion of scanning and document retrieval.
- Adheres to all workflows to ensure proper supporting documentation i.e., work instructions, policies and procedures, tip sheets, job aids, etc. are developed and maintained.
- Acts as an individual contributor as needed and provides coverage for scanning and document retrieval tasks.
- Implements and provide training to satisfy the requirements of the Health Information Management Specialist Team.
- Understands and adheres to compliance requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA, in all aspects of work.
- Participates in ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to policy covering the privacy of, and access to, patient privacy practices.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation mandates to which the organization is subject, company policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring consistent application within the Health Information Management Specialist Team. Reviews and implements all Breg policies, procedures, and programs.
- Communicates and coordinates with Breg Sales and Service, and customers to resolve missing information and intake issues.
- Assists in process and policy changes from the Senior Manager, Health Information Management, and other change leaders to support continuous improvement of the Health Information Management Department.
- Communicates trends and issues with the Billing Solutions team and other departments to support the goals and success of the Breg Billing Operation Department.
- Responsible for developing, securing, and managing electronic medical record access for the HIM team when required to obtain accurate patient records.
- Conducts regular team meetings.
- Leadership responsibilities include the selection, development, performance management and continuous recalibration of staff; ensures appropriate staffing levels and resource allocation; performs administrative tasks associated with timekeeping, pay, performance management, policy administration and other matters related to employment.
- Assesses staff and provides timely and consistent feedback regarding technical proficiency and effectiveness. Provides constructive feedback, guidance, and reinforcement to employees regarding job performance. Works with staff to identify work goals and create individual development plans. Evaluates training programs to ensure content meets staff needs.
What your background will be:
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Experience with electronic medical records and medical billing is required.
- Understanding of medical terminology is required.
- Ability to be versatile, adaptable and facilitate work in a complex, fast-paced, remote, and multi-site environment.
- 2 years of talent management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience managing employees in-office, hybrid in-office/remote, and full-time remote.
- Associates degree or trade certificate in an applicable field of study and 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination.
- Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) experience preferred.
- Computer proficient to include web browser/internet search, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point capabilities. Technical competence includes the ability to learn new software and systems.

Salary/Pay Range:
Salary/Pay Range: $51,700 - 70,500 annually
