Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking a dependable full-time Mail Coordinator. The Mail Coordinator effectively helps administer all mail-related functions on the Brethren Village campus, to ensure accurate and timely distribution of mail to Residents and Team Members.


The Mail Coordinator accurately and efficiently sorts and delivers incoming mail and packages to Residents and Team Members throughout the Brethren Village campus, and processes outgoing campus mail. The Mail Coordinator will drive a van on the Brethren Village campus to make mail deliveries, and will also make deliveries on foot or pushing a mail cart.


The Mail Coordinator abides by U.S. Postal Service regulations, and regulations pertaining to residents of long-term care facilities, when carrying out job duties.


The Mail Coordinator will frequently reach overhead, bend, stand, lift, carry, and walk during each 8-hour shift, in order to sort and deliver mail and packages. Mail Room staff must also be able to safely lift and carry packages; quickly sort mail into mail slots; push a mail cart; safely drive a van in order to make deliveries throughout the campus.


A valid PA driver's license (held for at least 2 years), personal auto insurance, and a driving record free of excessive or serious violation are required for this position.


Work Hours:


  • Full-time, benefits-eligible, year-round: Typically 40 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., including every other Saturday. Work days will vary a bit from week to week and include every other Saturday. Brethren Village offers an extra $1.00 per hour for weekend work.

Core Requirements:


  • a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use software, apps, and databases independently
  • the ability to complete online training independently

  • attention to safety: ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position and adhering to all health and safety standards
  • commitment to treating each Resident, Team Member, and member of the Brethren Village community with respect

Additional Requirements for This Position:


  • minimum age 18
  • a valid PA driver’s license, held for at least 2 years; personal auto insurance; a driving record free from a serious or excessive violations, including DUI
  • prior postal service experience, or other relevant professional experience
  • ability to read names and addresses printed in English
  • high attention to detail and accuracy with work
  • the ability to efficiently organize work, and work at a sufficient pace
  • willingness to carefully follow standard procedures
  • ability and willingness to work and interact with others in a helpful and professional manner
  • the ability to safely and frequently reach overhead, bend, stand, and walk during each shift; to quickly sort mail into mail slots; safely lift packages; push mail carts; walk up and down stairs during each shift; safely drive a van on the Brethren Village campus
  • ability and willingness to work on Saturdays
