As a Sales Manager with our Wine Team you will generate sales for the Wine Division by retaining, developing, and attracting new customers to achieve sales goals and objectives while obtaining maximum profitability within the designated sales territory. Key responsibilities are selling current and new products, meeting sales goals in targeted markets, recommending and sharing changes and trends seen in the field while keeping abreast of new technologies.

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning, developing, executing, and controlling all the activities in designated accounts in territories for BSG Wine to produce the targeted sales and profit goals.
  • Gathering pertinent industry and competitive data to keep the company informed of new sales opportunities, trends, and competition within the company’s market.
  • Servicing and maintaining existing accounts by developing plans to capitalize on growth opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining positive customer growth and relationships.
  • Providing technical support for sales managers in territories outside of the direct service responsibility, especially within areas of specialist expertise.
  • Keeping informed on competitors’ selling policies, tactics, services, and prices offered.
  • Completing all paperwork required for sales documentation and tracking, including call reports, contact results, and reporting activity.
  • Representing the company at trade shows and events within and outside the designated territory as required in support of overall company sales objectives.
  • Contributing to the formulation, development, and implementation of new sales strategies.
  • Preparing the annual forecast regarding the sales objectives for the territory.
  • Participating in the development of effective marketing tools.
  • Participating in the establishment of the competitive pricing for BSG Wine.
  • Participating in quarterly product demand forecasts with the sales team.
  • Working cooperatively with the procurement team and suppliers to facilitate timely supply of goods.
  • Assisting with collecting payment from customers.
  • Formulating annual travel budget and submits accurate expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring actual verses forecasted gross margins of each product sold in his/her territory.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Things you will need:

  • Associate degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and work experience required.
  • 5 years of technical wine sales experience preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, successfully navigate ambiguity, and succeed in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, often unpredictable environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels in the company.
  • Proven sales acumen and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment and consistently take a positive and professional approach.
  • Strong problem solver that can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information skillfully, developing alternative solutions, and using analytical reasoning skills to find a successful solution.
  • Proven ability to identify business opportunities and needs of potential customers and develop appropriate strategies to address and translate those needs into reality.
  • Strong analytical mindset to identify external market threats and opportunities and adapt strategy to changing conditions.
  • Demonstrated competence to plan and execute strategic sales efforts to gain new customers and an overall grasp on future potential for BSG Wine Division markets.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures, market trends, competitive environment, pricing systems, and profit objectives.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage difficult or emotional situations by responding promptly, soliciting feedback, responding to requests for service and assistance, and consistently meeting commitments.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to present and interpret numerical data.
  • Proficient in common computer skills, including word processing, use and development of spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Must be a team player with integrity and concern for the quality of BSG Wine Division’s services and staff members.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with speed, agility, and accountability to drive desirable outcomes and meet deadlines.

Salary : $76,200 - $96,500
