Overview
Promise Success is a K-12 initiative housed within the South Ward Promise Neighborhood (SWPN), a community-based organization, to combat chronic absenteeism (missing 10% or more of school days) and improve school climate by reducing barriers to student achievement and success. In an effort to ensure all South Ward students are physically present in the 2021-2022 school year – and graduate from high school ready for college, career, and beyond – program staff will work closely with families, students, school personnel and community partners.
The Site Coordinator (SC) will be a critical part of a school-based team. The SC is responsible for overseeing the effective and efficient implementation of SWPN’s AmeriCorps program, Promise Success. The SC will serve as the primary liaison at the school site by overseeing a small team of AmeriCorps members (aka. Promise Mentors) to ensure the program is aligned with established goals.
We are currently seeking 2 Site Coordinators to be placed at our school sites (service location).
Role: The Site Coordinator (SC) is a school-based position and an extension of the school culture and attendance team. The primary goal of the SC is to increase student attendance and engagement by consistently improving the effectiveness of the program. This is accomplished through weekly observations with AmeriCorps members and with consistent collaboration with school administration to ensure an effective partnership. Additionally, the SC will have the opportunity to coordinate and manage high-quality partnerships to support the needs of the school community.
The SC will report directly to the Program Director. Success in this role will be evaluated by reaching the target number of participants, improvement in student attendance, and implementing the program with fidelity by meeting standards as mandated by AmeriCorps and SWPN.
