Responsibilities:
Grants Management
- Develop and implement strategies to identify, secure, and manage grants for the charter school organization.
- Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization's educational initiatives and strategic priorities.
- Prepare and submit grant applications, ensuring compliance with grantor guidelines and deadlines.
- Collaborate with school administrators, educators, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information for grant proposals.
- Monitor and track grant progress, including financial reporting, programmatic updates, and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of grant activities, budgets, and expenditures.
Compliance Oversight
- Stay up to date with federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and guidelines pertaining to charter school funding, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including but not limited to grant agreements, funding guidelines, and financial reporting obligations.
- Conduct regular reviews and internal audits to assess compliance with grant requirements and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide guidance and training to school staff on compliance procedures and best practices.
Audits and Reporting
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reports to funding agencies and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure proper documentation and recording of financial transactions related to grant funds.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal control procedures to safeguard grant funds and assets.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with school administrators, program directors, and other staff members to align grant initiatives with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
- Maintain effective relationships with funding agencies, community partners, and other external stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities to stay informed about trends and best practices in grant management, compliance, and audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant management, compliance, audits, or a similar role, preferably in an educational or nonprofit environment.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing grant funding, compliance, and reporting.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in using financial management software, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Familiarity with Florida charter school regulations and funding mechanisms is a plus.
