Job Summary
This full-time Training Coordinator position will develop, implement, and facilitate Peer Wellness Specialist curriculum and trainings within Bridges to Change and across the community for individuals seeking such training services. The Training Coordinator will work with internal and external Communications and Development departments to advertise upcoming trainings, and coordinate all training components for implementation/facilitation. In compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules and the Mental Health and Addiction Accreditation Board of Oregon, the Training Coordinator will ensure all training materials meet state regulatory standards and best-practices for Peer Wellness Specialist certifications.
This role will partner with other community organizations to enhance access to Peer Wellness Specialist training opportunities, and will manage reporting requirements based on pre-established outcome measurements. The Training Coordinator is well-versed in training and learning best practices, has experience with peer support trainings, and is prepared to act as the curriculum expert for the organization, with support from supervisory leadership.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop Peer Wellness Specialist training curricula for Bridges to Change, meeting all state regulatory standards.
- Implement and facilitate Peer Wellness Specialist trainings ongoing and throughout the year internally at Bridges to Change, and externally with community partner organizations.
- Engage trainees in Peer Wellness Specialist learning materials, and understand workforce and peer-provider cultures, ethics, and regulations.
- Facilitate trainings related to peer-provider workforce development, including ethics, evidence-based practices, and engagement strategies.
- Understand peer-related workforce issues, needs, and enhancement supports, and actively work to address barriers to workforce issues for peer providers.
- Initiate and sustain partnerships between Bridges to Change and other community provider organizations and groups to enhance training efforts.
- Establish training feedback pathways to ensure training services are meeting the needs of those seeking educational services, and actively work towards addressing learning barriers through proactive and solution-focused problem solving.
- Performs monthly and quarterly reporting functions based on pre-established outcome measures and tracks applicable data ongoing.
- Assists with training program evaluation efforts, and helps to provide accurate information and performance metrics based on training program outcomes.
- Abides by organization policies and procedures, confidentiality laws, professional boundaries and relevant federal/state treatment regulations and standards.
- Effectively utilizes equity lens and equity framework in clinical services and supervision.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The following are the minimum levels required to successfully perform the Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities.
- Bachelors degree in related field, preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working in a training and information-facilitation capacity, required.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of a variety of peer practices, required.
- Working knowledge of service providers in the area, regionally specific resources, and population specific service needs.
- Computer literate; functional ability with Microsoft products.
- Demonstrated success at working effectively in a diverse, collaborative team environment, with skills in promoting inclusion and cultural responsiveness
- Experience in collaborating with community partners to identify shortcomings in the organization and in building partnerships to improve outcomes
- Excellent communication, trauma informed approach and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to maintain high professional standards at all times with participant, staff, and community partners
Working Conditions
Environment and Physical Requirements: The Training Coordinator works in an office environment and occasionally visits other site locations. These locations are subject to a variety of environmental weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, and dust. The position frequently requires daily travel by car. Training Coordinator interacts constantly with staff, visitors, program participants, government agencies, and others. The position stands, walks, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. The incumbent must be able to lift, push, pull and move files and equipment in excess of 15 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, forty hours per week with flexibility in scheduling. The Training Coordinator position also travels occasionally and may be required to work extended hours including evening, weekend and/or holiday work as job duties demand.
