What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Engineer position at Bright Health?
The Sales Engineer acts as a primary technical and consulting resource to the Sales & Customer Success teams as well as various departments and units with respect to the architecture, planning, and implementation of any Zipnosis/DocSquad related platform. Focus includes but is not limited to, integrations, solving customer & prospect needs with existing product capabilities. Continuously gains an understanding of Professional Services Operations and processes and how systems/tools are used in support of those operations. The Sales Engineer develops platform architecture standards and best practices for use across the organization. The Sales Engineer collaborates with Sales & Customer Success leadership to accurately co-develop scope and statement of works with Professional Services team. Leads integration design sessions with prospects as well as existing customers. The Sales Engineer is responsible for generating and maintaining detailed solution/integration design documentation working collaboratively with others to achieve departmental and organizational goals and actively participate as a member of a team to move the team towards completion of goals.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design, develop, establish, and evaluate solution specifications for a variety of highly complex systems. This is to include but not limited to the following:
a. Evaluate work product to ensure adherence to established functional and operational specifications or guidelines
b. Develop and manage solution architecture policies, procedures and best practices and communicate to staff
c. Develop success criteria and risk assessments as it relates to solutions deployed for all projects
d. Work independently with Customer Success and Sales staff to define solution concepts
e. Conduct gap analysis
f. Ensure that projects meet specified functionality and solution requirements
g. Manage all phases of solution functional testing including, but not limited to, integration, acceptance, regression, and performance
h. Develop and maintain solution process flow, methodology, and control documentation
i. Analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver solution artifacts such as solution architecture, design, task, and workflow analysis
j. Take ownership of solution issues by identifying underlying problems, analyzing potential solutions, and implementing resolutions, including workarounds
k. Assist to resolve solution architectural problems in the test, production implementation, and post-implementation phases in coordination with Customer Success, Sales, Implementation Analysts, and other technical and business groups
l. Maintain solution architecture process flow, methodology, and control documentation
m. Participate in the development of project SOWs, work effort, and cost justifications
2. Provide ongoing technical direction to Implementation Consultants, Project Managers, and Customer Success Managers/Sales staff and periodically to other technical staff assigned to relevant projects either inside or outside of Sales & Customer Success
3. Acts as the liaison between Sales/Customer Success and Product Engineering for any/all release management of product solutions and/or technology that is ultimately impacted by or deployed by the Professional Services team. Demonstrate a rational and organized approach to work and identify solution implementation opportunities.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
● Bachelor's Degree in Software Development, Information Management, or equivalent
● Experienced in delivering technical solutions based on industry standards using SaaS
● 5 years of experience in the software industry, with extensive knowledge of healthcare-based software technologies
● Track record of healthcare experience to effectively assist with closing deals and supporting seamless implementation
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
● Proficient with integration technologies and protocols (HL7, SFTP, HTTPS, VPNs, SSO, JSON, APIs) and other common web technologies
● Ability to develop data architectures – designing data flows that are aligned with customer information systems
● Hands-on experience with popular SaaS applications such as HubSpot, JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Zoom/MS Teams, and others
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of work responsibilities are performed either in an open office or remote setting. Some travel may be required.
