Reports to: Director
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing one group home and rotating call with other Senior DSPs.
- Collect incident reports and doctors’ consultation sheets to give to Residential Director.
- Complete weekly house walk-through using physical environment checklist.
- Check First Aid kits weekly.
- Ensure that fire drills have been completed for the month, if not, let the Residential Director know.
- Learn how to complete quarterly reviews.
- Complete quarterlies reviews as assigned.
- Ensure all needed paperwork is at the home for DSPs to use, if not, let Residential Director know what’s needed. (Incident reports, Shift reports, menu etc…)
- Report any needed supplies, work orders for the house etc…
- Check Smoke detectors monthly.
- Training new DSPs as needed.
- Attending doctor appointments as needed and updating information in Therap.
- Attend annual meetings as needed.
- Ensure that there is a refrigerator and freezer thermometer are inside the refrigerator and freezer.
- Check water temperatures monthly.
- Ensure that all required documents are posted. (Weapons policy, DBHDS license, Human rights poster (Words and Pictures), HCBS rights, floor plans in every room, check for working flashlights monthly.
- Annual Insurance assessments with individual insurance provider (Optima, VA Premier, etc..)
- Give out paper progress notes to DSPs as needed.
- Senior DSP only (Review Therap doctor’s appointment weekly to ensure that all appointment status has been changed to completed, all consultation sheet, orders, physical exam form and any pertinent form have been upload into Therap). Also review all consultation sheets to ensure that all future appointment have been entered into Therap. Update Med tech and Residential Director of any medication changes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least two year of experience with Developmental Disabilities and Intellectual Disabilities and managing a group home. Valid drivers license. Good Criminal Records Report, proven satisfy working history and good attendance with Brighton Gardens, LLC.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Ability to organize and prioritize work task, ability to work effectively as a team, ability to present self professionally, ability to self-direct work, ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, ability to complete satisfactorily: medication certification, first aid/CPR, and other requirements in orientation, skill in decision-making, judgment and action in emergency or crisis, and skills in maintaining confidential information.
