What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Ski Patroller position at Brighton?
Overview
Brighton Ski Resort is looking for experienced and inexperienced patrollers to monitor over 1000 skiable acres for the 2021/2022 ski season. With a base area of 8750’ at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon we average 500” of snow each season, and have terrain that appeals to all riding levels.

Responsibilities
Be a friendly and welcoming face for guests from across the globe!
Identify and mark on mountain hazards, educate guests in regards to safe skiing & riding etiquette, and assist with event & race safety
Take pride and a sense of responsibility in the safe use and access of Brighton terrain
Comfortable with confrontation and able to address guests involved in potentially dangerous behavior
Assist with opening/closing terrain, dispatch duties, avalanche mitigation, and first aid needs
Qualifications
- 21 years old
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Current EMT or OEC medical certification
- Intermediate skiing or snowboarding level and able to pass a proficiency test
- Passion for guest service and the hospitality industry
- Able to remain calm, cool and collected under pressure
- Flexible availability during the ski season (including weekends, evenings and holidays)
