JOB SUMMARY:
Assist in maintaining accurate material records and provide necessary data concerning materials and supplies. Provide necessary data as to BrightRidge needs for material and supplies. Assist in monitoring the flow of work in warehouse. Assist manager in inventory control levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Directs: Stockkeeper and Warehouse Workers (Position has no authority in tangible employment actions including hiring, firing, promoting, reassigning significantly different tasks, or causing changes to benefits but may be involved in directing day- to-day operations of employees).
- Assist Physical Plant/Warehouse Manager with daily operations.
- Receives materials for purchase orders, check extensions and additions to all invoices.
- Writes purchase requisitions, assist in maintaining inventory and inventory ledger and expediting purchase orders.
- Assists in returning materials on work orders, prices and extends work orders and posts and recaps work orders, as needed.
- Coordinates all receiving of materials and reconciling.
- Arranges for the sale of poles and other materials to consumers.
- Issues material and receives unused and salvageable material when they are returned.
- Provides and receives information on ordered materials or invoices to vendors and suppliers.
- Generates inventory reports, checks for accuracy and expedites to manager.
- Prepares blanket orders for managers approval.
- Assists crews in issuing and receiving materials for daily work.
- Ability to maintain reliable, predictable and reasonable attendance.
- Assist in annual inventory.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license from state of residence.
- Must be available for after hours work which would include working fair share of all necessary overtime and weekly on call rotation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must possess knowledge of work order procedures.
- Must possess knowledge of utility construction materials and their appropriate usage.
- Must possess basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and understanding the NISC system.
- Must have the ability to keep inventory at the appropriate levels.
- Must have the ability to direct employees in a team environment.
- Must have excellent multi-tasking ability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires constant standing, walking, handling, vision and depth perception. Requires frequent reaching, arm/hand, leg/foot and simple grasp for machine control operation. Requires occasional lifting of up to 130 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
50% of work is performed in an open warehouse without temperature controls and occasionally outdoors and in inclement weather. Exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals may be required. 50% of work is performed in an indoor climate-controlled office environment inside the warehouse with appropriate lighting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three to five years prior experience in warehousing and inventory control in a utility environment.
