Job Description

We are currently looking for a Principal Product Architect to join our growing team. In this position, you will serve as the SME for network technologies. You will work with senior executives and customers as a trusted technical advisor. You will provide architectural guidance on strategic products and lead the development of formalized solution methodologies. You will provide a bridge between the business and the technical teams. 

As a Principal Product Architect, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Present to senior business and, Network Planning, and IT leadership
  • Identify and propose specific strategies, initiatives, and remedies necessary to align technology infrastructure with corporate objectives
  • Provide expertise to identify and translate system requirements into detailed design documentation
  • Perform proactive evaluation and assessment of new networking technologies and vendors
  • Develop and maintain product standards and guidelines
  • Continually assess the existing environment and identify opportunities for improving solutions and services
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations of overall network requirements for performance, availability, utilization, and reliability
  • Ensure that all architectural deliverables are developed to the highest quality standards and provide architectural review and approval for major solutions
  • Develop and deliver voice and data products in alignment with the company’s overall mission
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, documentation, technical KPIs, and SLAs for network and telecommunications services portfolio

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar field
  • Certification from leading network and voice vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Avaya, MetaSwitch)
  • 15 years of experience in technology positions
  • 10 years in senior architecture role
  • Expert knowledge of network protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Segment Routing
  • Expert knowledge of Metro Ethernet technologies including MEF services, L2VPNs, loop avoidance
  • Expert knowledge of SIP/VOIP Applications and platforms from design, development, implementation and management
  • Experience with multicast and video distribution solutions
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud solutions, API integration
  • Knowledge and understanding of Conferencing solutions such as Cisco Webex Meetings and BlueJeans, Microsoft Teams
  • Experience with developing a scope of work document outlining project objectives, responsibilities, deliverables, and assumptions in complex multiple technology solutions
  • Familiarities with cloud operations such AWS / GCE / Azure
  • Familiarities with SD-WAN mode of operations such as Application Aware Routing, overlay/underlay routing, etc.
  • Experience in estimating effort and working with multiple back end subject matter experts to develop a holistic view of the effort required to complete a professional services engagement that meets customer defined requirements
  • Experience in identifying potential design, performance, security, and support problems, including ability to identify technical risks/challenges and develop relevant mitigation strategies
  • Extensive knowledge of the broad spectrum of technology areas, including technology trends, forthcoming industry standards, new products, and the latest solution development techniques; ability to leverage this knowledge to formulate technical solution strategy
  • Must be able to understand, interpret, relay, and conduct technical network discussions
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in Telecom service delivery standards
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter experts with strong presentation skills

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or similar field
  • Telecom/Cable/Internet Service Provider industry experience
  • Cisco Certifications (CCIE, CCNP)
  • Technical Certifications - AWS, VMWare
