Job Title: Business Development Manager
Reports to: Sales Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Position Objective / Summary: The Sales Development Representative is responsible for managing sales of the company’s product line by finding and growing new business prospects and new markets. This includes identifying new potential markets for selling products, developing new profit and revenue streams, and developing lists of potential prospects. The ultimate goal is new customer acquisition, retention, growth and loyalty.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Make outbound calls to prospective customers.
- Attend industry tradeshows and related events to cultivate relationships with prospects.
- Negotiate and quote product prices.
- Use sales skills to cross sell all appropriate company products/services into each account.
- Make wellness calls to customers to determine customer satisfaction.
- Document all calls and sales activities in CRM.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with marketing, customer service, technical service, production, finance and shipping departments to ensure efficiency and optimal service levels to the customer.
- Quickly develop product knowledge to be able to relay and discuss information with potential customers and partners.
- Advises Manager of significant competitive actions, evaluation of market conditions and estimates of sales potential.
- Forecast and report incoming business activity.
- Meet or exceed 100% of established sales goals.
- Able to produce and maintain a monthly sales funnel, maintaining enough in the pipeline to ensure projections are met and quotas achieved.

- Minimum of 3-5 years business to business sales experience with proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota
- Experience with stored value cards and/or printing is preferred but not required
- Willing, eager, and able to effectively make cold calls
- Prior formal sales training
- Experience with selling niche product lines
- Self-motivating and outgoing; able to maintain energy and enthusiasm
- Excellent personal selling skills
- Experience with a comprehensive CRM system
- Exemplary and professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel (~30%) as necessary.
