Broward County's Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau (Visit Lauderdale) is looking for an experienced administrative assistant to support its sales efforts. Overall, the position will support the sales department's staff by handling administrative duties and correspondence with internal and external customers.
This position will process travel, reimbursement, and other payment and archival work for the entire sales department staff. This position will assist in coordinating sales programs, which may involve speaking with community partners and organizing plans with internal staff, and working with meeting planner customers.
This position may be responsible for some logistical aspects of events hosted by Visit Lauderdale. This includes recording attendee registrations and payments for events hosted by Visit Lauderdale. In addition, this position may help with other organizational duties related to events hosted by Visit Lauderdale including, but not limited to, booking services, determining seating and other logistical plans. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and communications skills.
This position works at the agency's front desk and as such it is the first point of contact for members of the public entering the offices. Performs related work as assigned. The successful candidate will possess a friendly, welcoming demeanor, and a working knowledge of what makes Broward County a destination for tourists.
In the event of a disaster (hurricane, etc.) all Broward County employees become emergency workers. This position will assist in various emergency functions as assigned before, during, and after a disaster. This includes, but is not limited to, working at a general population shelter during a hurricane.
