JOB SUMMARY :
Perform duties necessary for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the Parts Department. Advises and makes recommendations to Management with respect to the best interest of the Parts Department and compatible with the overall Dealership objectives.
Performs duties necessary for the smooth operation of the Parts Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES :
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare end of month inventory total report.
- Oversee all stock orders, emergency orders, and special orders including expediting all back orders.
- Control Inventory levels and obsolescence levels.
- Oversee physical inventory from preparation to completion.
- Prepare and return monthly core return.
- Report to oversee semi-annual service parts return to Mack.
- Evaluate monthly profit and loss report for any discrepancies.
- Evaluate monthly Mack billings.
- Oversee account coding of local parts invoices from vendors.
- Answer customer phone calls, fill orders, and help customers at parts counter when necessary.
- Train parts personnel, which include outside and counter salespersons, parts clerk, shipping and receiving clerk, and parts runner.
- Be able to operate all parts equipment, and oversee maintenance of equipment.
- Meets at least monthly with Sales and Operations Managers to evaluate and maintain interdepartmental relations, to address concerns and integrate plans to maximize Dealership performance and attain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Periodically visits primary customers to monitor customer relations, their needs, problems, and satisfactions with distributorship performance, especially parts related items.
MARGINAL JOB TASKS :
Display and arrange parts for point of purchase specials.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum high school diploma required. Degree or college credits toward Management or business. Must be willing to take continuing education courses as deemed necessary.
WORK EXPERIENCE :
One year or more experience in the operation of an auto, truck, equipment, or industrial parts department. At least one year experience in the operation of a computerized inventory control system.
