We have a new opportunity for an NMR Field Service Engineer to install and support high technology equipment in research, pharmaceutical, university and government labs for Bruker Biospin, a leading manufacturer of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and compact magnetic resonance (CMR) spectroscopy instruments and accessories. The Field Service Engineer works with highly complex equipment that requires advanced understanding of these instruments to perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair service activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical assistance to install, service, and repair equipment
- Provide installations and upgrades under GxP environments
- Familiarize and train customers for basic operation of the equipment
- Secure customer acceptance of installation and repair sign-off
- Re-qualify the entire instrument after service repair by running complex experiments for verification
- Do computer and software-upgrades on customer-site
- Install and service our magnets dedicated to Magnetic Resonance Systems
- Technical 1st level customer support via telephone, TeamViewer, E-Mail etc.
- Independently plan and execute service calls in dialog with local SLS management
- Performance of Periodic Preventive Maintenance tasks
- Handling of cryogens refilling tasks (handling of liquid Helium and liquid Nitrogen)
- Participation and performance in other related tasks as assigned by the manager
- Documentation of the performed activities with the help of service reports
- Support sales team on new sales and other sales campaigns (e.g. consumable materials/ supplies)
- Collaboration in special projects as assigned by manager
- Coordination with local country and third-party agents as well as factory-based divisions such as shipping, administration, and product development
- Serve as a supportive and effective communication link between the customer and company to ensure customer service satisfaction
Qualifications
- Basic technical education, e.g. multimedia electronics engineer, Electronics engineer HF / FH, Computer scientist, Bachelor of Science in Electronics, Biotech, Biology or Chemistry discipline
- Strong computer knowledge in Windows (Linux as an added bonus)
- Strong troubleshooting- and analytical skills
- Strong technical skills involving analytical instrumentation
- Excellent customer focus with ability to reliably respond to inquiries, communicate and interact with scientists
- Strong verbal, written, MS Office, computer, technical data, and networking communication and presentation skills, with ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently, prioritize, multi-task, follow through, and meet deadlines within an entrepreneurial and customer-focused work environment
- Ability to satisfactorily complete position training requirements
- Fluency in German and English language (spoken and written)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Independent and responsible method of working
- Impeccable manners with customers and colleagues
- Distinct ability to work in a team
- High degree of flexibility and willingness to be challenged
- Possesses the ability to think and perform tasks in a logical manner
- Ability to maintain a valid passport and travel approximately 60-80% as required (mainly in CH and Middle-East)
