HV Cable Manager / HV service manager required for a Major Offshore Windfarm Developer in the Northeast.
The role of the High Voltage Service Manager will be to support the development and execution of termination and testing services in the US region.
Responsibilities:
- Technically support the sales and commercial team, with preparing proposals to offshore wind projects specifically in termination and testing of submarine cables.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the field of HV cable termination and testing, such as advanced insulation materials, diagnostic tools, and monitoring systems
- Discuss the technical solutions during meetings with external stakeholders.
- Support the operational teams, with finding the most efficient technical solutions for the execution of our offshore projects.
- Review of project deliverables.
- Technical project management
- Technical review and quality assurance of HV technicians
- Occasional Project related travel
- Assist in the business development of the high voltage service for the group
- Maintain product and services quality from project delivery to completion.
- Participate in industry events and conferences to maintain technical overview and quality level.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years experience in medium and high voltage engineering project management or leadership
- 3-5 years Practical experience with MV and HV cable jointing.
- Practical experience with HV testing.
- Practical experience with the execution of large cable project (onshore or offshore).
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering required, advanced degree preferred.
- Completion of specialized training programs or certifications focused on advanced techniques and methodologies for HV cable termination and testing, such as partial discharge testing, tan delta testing, and diagnostic testing preferred
- Experience or training in cable fault location techniques and repair procedures for MV and HV cables
- Proficient knowledge of electrical system design principles, including load flow analysis, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination
- Dielectric material understanding
- Strong written and verbal English language skills.
