Survey Intern

We are looking for a Survey Intern to join our Modesto Office in the summer of 2023. This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineering or Geomatics student to explore a career in the Survey industry!

This is an ideal opportunity for those who want to get hands on experience with exciting Bay Area projects, gain mentorship that will help further your knowledge, and have a full-time schedule throughout summer

What You Will Learn:

• Boundary and topographic land surveying
• Collaborate with field and office personnel on private and public projects
• Participate in field activities to learn the fundamental of land surveying.
• Research and read record documents such as deeds, easements, and subdivision plats
• Compile an abstract map, and how to use the information to perform a field boundary survey.
• Resolve boundaries using accepted boundary construction principles, case law and best practices.
• Read construction plans and learn to generate points used to direct construction crews in the land development process.
• Utilize and manage AutoCAD drawings and references to create field points based on plans and generate cutsheets used by roadway excavation and construction crews.

This is the perfect opportunity for those that are:

• Currently enrolled in an engineering, surveying technology, geomatics, or related program of study (preferred)
• Good oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail
• A positive work attitude with the ability to understand and implement directions
