Responsibilities
The Licensed Vocational Nurse is accountable for the health status and health needs of their patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with the patients and the interdisciplinary health-care team members.
Job Summary:
Assist physician and staff with daily coordination of patient care to facilitate patient flow and physician access. Functions as primary liaison between patient and physician. Primary support person for the physician. Conveys a positive image of the clinic. Exhibits the four core values of respect, integrity, innovation, and compassion. Follows the rules of the Code of Conduct and the Compliance Provisions so that ADC can better ensure that its actions do not violate any laws or regulations.
Qualifications
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Texas LVN license
CPR Heartsaver AED certified from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
IV therapy certification preferred
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Minimum one year experience in health-care setting
Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
Knowledge of medication and their effects on the patients, ability to administer IM, SQ, and PO medication
Skills in taking vital signs and in using various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures including but not limited to EKG's, throat culture, suture removal, ear irrigation, wound dressing, etc.
Ability to assess problems quickly and accurately
Possess good communication skills in order to be able to effectively work with and educate patients
