What are the responsibilities and job description for the FF&E Procurement Specialist position at BSB Design?
PURPOSE
The FF&E Procurement Specialist will manage the procurement, logistics, and project accounting throughout the lifecycle of an FF&E design project. This will include engagement with design staff at various phases of work including the FF&E selection, specifying, and presentation phases. The FF&E Procurement Specialist will work to ensure accurate pricing of FF&E goods, create and process purchase orders, and will manage and coordinate the FF&E procurement, expediting, and installation process. The position requires experience in FF&E furnishings and materials specification, procurement, expediting, strong organizational and financial management skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and consistently with multiple vendors, manufacturers, and design staff. This position includes both working remotely and weekly in-office time as scheduled.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates and assists the design team during the design and development of FF&E concepts relating to selection and specification of furnishings and decorative materials for various projects.
- Follows standard procurement practices related to pricing, specification, proposals, processing purchase orders, and expediting of furniture and decorative materials throughout the lifecycle of a project.
- Adheres to project budgets and schedules, standard practices, and review FF&E resources to ensure alignment with design intent and the completion of a concise set of FF&E documents.
- Provides expediting reports to various team members noting status of purchase orders, shipping, and delivery.
- Maintains and provides detailed budget reports and updates to the project team throughout a project.
- Coordinates shipping, receiving, and warehousing of procurement orders.
- Coordinates delivery, and installation of procurement orders with various delivery and installation teams.
- Independently resolves problems or obtains assistance from other staff members to resolve complex issues.
- Offers recommendations related to developing improved FF&E procurement processes and standards.
- Responds to Senior Staff in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicates with furniture and furnishings manufacturers and product representatives to obtain samples and materials related to the procurement of a project.
SKILLS
- 3 years related experience in an FF&E procurement role with commercial, hospitality, or multifamily projects.
- Proficient in Studio Designer (preferred) or other related FF&E procurement software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask, work as part of a team and work independently on multiple projects.
- Strong financial oversight and management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Versatile, self-motivated, and articulate.

Associate degree or higher preferred
