Work Summary:
Under general supervision, performs para-professional work, administering assessment instruments and the development of consumer’s personal support plans. Assist with the development, and documentation of deceleration programs. Would be the lead worker, as assigned, over other staff, working in an assigned area. Possesses skills necessary to work with individuals with aggressive and/or self-abusive behaviors in a responsible caregiving style. Will be responsible for maintenance of assigned work area. BSW, Inc. operates on the philosophy of Zero Tolerance for Abuse and Neglect and any such occurrence will be reported according to policy. Will maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a professional and courteous manner with consumers, families, guardians, advocates, co-workers and other service providers. Must be able to lift/carry 20 pounds or more.
Hours of Work: Sun 9a-5p M-Th 2p-10p (hrs may vary due to need)
Education and Experience Required:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2. Two (2) years experience working with persons with special needs preferred.
3. Valid Montana Driver’s License and the ability to be covered by BSW, Inc. insurance.
4. Willingness to attend specialized training as assigned.
