This key position is focused on contributing to Buehler’s global growth through the development of new and existing products. - Manage the design, development and testing of products used for Material Preparation and Analysis
- Ensure engineering projects, initiatives and processes are in conformance with organization’s objectives
- Evaluate and resolve technical feasibility, design optimization and production issues
- Work with other departments to establish short-term and long-term design, technology, product development and vendor strategies to drive profitable growth
- Manage a staff of Software & Firmware Engineers who collaborate daily with Mechanical & Electrical Engineers
- Exercise independent judgment to assign staff to projects based on strengths and goals required for successful project completion
- Conduct performance management for staff regarding job performance including development plans and corrective actions if necessary
- The ability to travel nationally and internationally is required; estimated travel is 5% to 10% annually
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, or General Engineering
- 3 years of total electro-mechanical engineering experience
- 2 years of staff management experience required
- Experience or general interest in embedded software and web development is a plus
- Must have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the engineering arena
- Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills are essential to success
- High level of problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop and implement a functional team environment
- Knowledge or experience with CE requirements and ISO-9001 certification
