Initial Responsibilities
- Learn to program, set up, and operate numerically controlled machines.
- Learn to mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Remove finished workpieces, change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences. Finished workpieces may be lifted manually or with hoists and cranes.
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
- Learn to diagnose machine-related issues during operation.
- Learn proper machining methods.
- Learn to read and modify programs by making necessary edits and/or offsets for CNC machines.
- Report variations in program sequences, positioning, cycle time, etc.
- Learn to adjust the machine offsets to control part dimensions.
- Inspect in-process pieces to ensure parts are to specifications or blueprints.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Regal Rexnord policies, 6S procedures, and RegalRexnord core values.
Requirements
- Effectively communicate and work in a team environment.
- Working knowledge and utilization of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) preferred.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
- Willing & eager to learn!
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Ability to document information as required.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to use a computer with clear instructions and procedures.
Physical Demand and Work Environment:
- Work environment includes occasional exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels, dust particles and oil products. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift.
- Physical requirements include lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, arm-hand steadiness, manual dexterity, control precision, near vision, and hearing sensitivity.
