At Built In, the health, safety and well-being of our employees and of our communities is a top priority. Due to the effects of COVID-19, we have decided to manage our entire business remotely until further notice. HQ-based employees will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our office. We’re looking for a Content Writer 

We are looking for a creative writer to lead the development of high-quality and engaging content that attracts key buyers. This includes developing story ideas, finding sources, writing, editing and more. You will work closely with both sales and marketing to identify high-value sources, a target audience and topics of interest. 

How you’ll contribute

  • Interview thought leaders on a variety of HR, technology and business topics
  • Write and edit multiple branded content pieces a month that appeal to our key buyer personas
  • Pitch compelling story ideas that meet the needs of our target audience 
  • Find sources to share their expertise in our content 
  • Research relevant HR and employer branding topics to help position Built In as a thought leader in this space
  • Effectively communicate with sales and marketing teams to set goals, identify our target audience and ensure all deadlines are met 
  • Provide best-in-class interactions with our potential buyers and customers

What you need

  • 3 years of experience in reporting or branded/marketing content
  • Previous experience with client-facing communications
  • Proven skill set of reporting basics like finding sources, attributing quotes, etc. 
  • Peer review editing skills 
  • Comprehension of AP Style and the ability to write using custom style guides
  • Robust research and interviewing skills
