Job Overview

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for supporting the General Manager in day-to-day operations of the restaurant and upholding Burger King’s standards and culture in all areas of restaurant operations.


PAY TRANSPARENCY

Starting pay rate is up to $20.00 per hour, depending on skill level, experience and/or education. Compensation offered is also subject to local wage and hour laws.


Your Impact and Responsibilities:

  • Creates crewmember work and training schedules
  • Manages the performance of all hourly crewmembers (e.g. development, coaching, re-directive communication and documentation, and other performance management tasks)
  • Acts as manager on duty and opens and closes the restaurant
  • Manages cash handling and ensures accountability
  • Authorizes employee functions requiring manager approval (e.g. discounts, promotions, timeclock overrides, etc.)
  • Ensures cleanliness of the restaurant and ensures the facility is in good working order
  • Uses required tools, forms and logs to support shift execution, document results and take corrective action when needed
  • Ensures current training materials and programs (updated recipes, charts and functioning kitchen monitor) are consistently utilized in teammate training
  • Trains and develops the best teammates
  • Sets clear performance expectations through directions and goals; actively listens to teammates to determine needs and concerns and quickly respond
  • Work through RGM’s to ensure restaurants are staffed with qualified shift supervisors, and crew
  • Develops and executes plans to achieve top line sales performance compared to budget sales for each area.
  • Develops plans to control expenses and achieve budget for restaurant operating profit for each areas of the Profit and Loss Statements
  • Maximize presence in restaurants in all dayparts to monitor operational status to provide feedback to RGM’s
  • Assists restaurant general managers in identifying training needs and the execution of training programs to improve their restaurant management teams
  • Assist restaurant general managers with compliance and understanding of Nath Companies, Inc. policies and procedures, such as; Security, Safety, Cash handling, Sexual Harassment
  • Assists in ensuring restaurants are following all state and federal labor laws, as they pertain to Burger King
  • Assist restaurant general managers with compliance and understanding of BKC policies, procedures and requirements
  • Open new restaurants successfully with high operating standards and within budget
  • All other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Must have extensive and successful experience as a restaurant general manager
  • Familiarity with company organization, policies and procedures, and personnel preferred
  • Requires excellent human relations skills including leadership and motivation
  • Strong communication skills: listening, oral and written
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 3 years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
  • Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
  • Able to recognize and analyze problems, set goals, create plans and convert plans into action to solve problems
  • Proficient in a variety of technology systems including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly
  • Food Safety: Serve Safe certified
  • Acts with integrity; keeps commitments
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • Tolerate extreme cold and hot temperatures and work in and around fryers, ovens, grills, coolers, freezers, sharp objects, and loud noises
  • Reach, grasp, and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift, including reaching for objects overhead
  • Push, pull, lift, and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lb. occasionally, including lifting from ground to overhead


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends and travel as needed for work-related functions and training
