DC Burger Inc owns and operates over 37 BURGER KING restaurants across Virginia.
Position Purpose
This position reports to the Regional Vice President in a particular operating Region. The District Managers span of control will be a minimum of six restaurants in a geographic area, but it could be as high as eight. Each restaurant has a team of at least four management employees, with the Restaurant General Manager reporting directly to the District Manager. The District Manager supervises a total group of 175 200 employees, which includes the management team at each restaurant, as well as all the crew staff.
The District Manager (DM) is responsible for enthusiastically leading and motivating the restaurant management team and providing them with the tools, training, and follow-up necessary to achieve maximum performance in each restaurant, to meet the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction and selling efforts. This position is accountable for maximizing positive customer experiences, sales, and profits within assigned restaurants. In addition to following DC Burger Incs policies and procedures, principal accountabilities are, but are not limited to:
Restaurant and Service Support:
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Assesses, establishes, and implements appropriate restaurant staffing levels with input from direct reports
- Works with direct reports to develop and implement action plans that will improve operating results
- Ensures adherence to company merchandising plans
- Plans and conducts regularly scheduled meetings with direct reports
- Assures the training, development, and performance of their teams staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce that achieves their career objectives
- Recruits and recommends qualified employees for their teams staff positions
- Approves all time-off requests for direct reports
- Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to their team to assure mutual understanding of desired results; resolves internal or external barriers that prohibit successful goal achievement
- Understands the overarching company strategy, as well as communicates and models the core values, of the organization to create a sense of teamwork and membership among employees
- Coordinates with direct reports in the recruitment and interviewing of applicants
- Confers with direct reports regarding the advancement of restaurant personnel and when considering the discharge or discipline of restaurant personnel
- Supports direct reports in conducting restaurant meetings
- Consults with leadership on the development of their team's strategy
- Advises leadership to source external vendors for applicable services when appropriate
- Consults with the business to effectively design and streamline applicable processes within the organization
- Keeps up-to-date on external best practices and relevant changes to their field/area; communicates updates to leadership
- Ensures that restaurant personnel comply with the companys customer satisfaction guidelines
- Oversees and manages the appropriate resolution of operational customer concerns by store management
- Ensures that restaurant management monitors restaurant conditions, equipment, and employee performance to maintain a safe environment for employees, customers, and vendors
- Oversees and manages restaurant compliance with established policies and procedures within the district, as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversees and manages the achievement of store payroll budgets and total loss results; ensures that results achieved are within district budget
- Review and analyzes restaurant personnels adherence to inventory procedures, product handling guidelines, and cash control policies and procedures to minimize losses
- Conducts store inventory counts and cash audits according to guidelines
- Manages their team by driving projects and tasks to completion through effective prioritization, work planning, resource allocation, and cross-functional collaboration
- Identifies cost-saving opportunities and potential process improvements
- Serves as the primary link between their teams staff and leadership to assure understanding of company goals, objectives, and opportunities for improvement
Educational/Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role managing multi-units preferably in a restaurant environment
- Two years of college education or equivalent is a plus.
- The ability to attract, develop, and retain high performing work teams.
- Outstanding leadership skills and be able to motivate a diverse team.
- Possess exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of restaurant managers in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to manage a P&L and execute a sales plan
- Strong math skills and Windows-based computer skills
- The ability to work with a high degree of independence and discretion.
- The ability to work well under pressure and with a heavy workload.
