Service Assistant / Driver

Burke Outdoor is one of the area’s leading lawn and garden power equipment dealerships. We have been in business since 1996. We offer sales of new equipment, parts, and service. We have developed a reputation for offering quality products and exceptional service. We are seeking someone to join our team as our pick-up and delivery driver / shop assistant.

Your responsibilities in this role would include, but not limited to some of the items listed below.

• Drive box truck to pick up lawn and garden equipment for repairs as well as the delivery and instruction of new equipment to customers. You must have a clean driving record and feel comfortable in driving a large vehicle. The job of picking up items for repair can sometimes be difficult due to some units being inoperable. It may be required to push or pull equipment for a distance so that they can be winched onto the truck. For this reason you must be in good physical condition and not opposed to hard work in all types of weather conditions.

• Instruct and demonstrate new equipment to customers. You must learn to be familiar with various types of power equipment and instruct customers how to safely operate and maintain these units.

• You would be required to help open and close the facilities at Burke Outdoor daily. All new equipment must be moved to and from the shop area for display as well as moving units for repair in and out of our storage area.

• Assembling new equipment and the preparation of equipment prior to delivery to the customer. (Some equipment requires a good bit of technical ability and mechanical aptitude)

• General assistance of all shop functions such as cleaning, organization, and some simple maintenance tasks.

• Simple repairs such as tire repairs, blade sharpening, and oil changes.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
