Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute retail merchandising and staffing plans to ensure that the right Burpee products are prominently in-store to drive Brand visibility and sales during the essential months of the home gardening season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, season preparedness, and implementation of U.S. Retail Merchandising strategies.
- Provide direct and active leadership t three Retail Merchandising Managers (RMMs) and manager 180 Part-time Merchandisers
- Meet or exceed all retail merchandising Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as assigned in the annual business process.
- Manage product display servicing in a timely and cost-effective manner, including start-of-season set-up, replenishments, and end-of-season consolidation.
- Prepare annual and quarterly budgets, presenting them to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage travel and expenditure within allocated budgets, adhering to Company Policies.
- Track inventory movement, introduce competitive promotions, sales, and price changes systematically.
- Identify trends, monitor supply and demand, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm new projects and campaigns.
- Ensure assigned regions meet or exceed annual budget plans and retail merchandising KPIs.
- Provide monthly market analysis and develop tactical plans to achieve stronger point-of-sale (POS) in core business.
- Maintain retail execution data and customer information in assigned resources/tools consistently.
- Report directly to the SVP Retail Sales.
- Collaborate closely with various cross-functional teams, including Customer Business Leadership, Forecast & Planning, Operations, Customer Support, and Human Resources.
- Ideal candidates possess exceptional communication skills, deadline-driven focus, and a creative eye for in-store displays.
- Expected outcomes include improved market share and increased profitability within assigned retail accounts.
- Requires a focused and disciplined approach to business tactics, with continuous evaluation of retail sales and customer effectiveness.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Consumer Products; experience in SKU intense category, Lawn & Garden, other Seasonal, and/or In-store merchandising execution preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing a remote team of merchandisers.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required.
- Demonstrated ability to identify growth opportunities based on an in-depth understanding of company and national retail customer strategies.
- Proven track record of innovative thinking and risk-taking.
- Strong team and interpersonal skills.
- Experience developing successful new business-building ideas based on total understanding of customer’s business drivers and go-to-market strategies.
