Material Recovery Facility/Transfer Station Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary:
A Material Recovery Facility/Transfer Station Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring repairs and preventative maintenance work is scheduled and completed as well as performing repairs and conducting preventative maintenance on Material Recovery Facility/Transfer Station rolling stock equipment when required. Maintaining all repair & maintenance documentation, conducting safety training, maintaining parts inventories and overall compliance of repair facilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- A Supervisor ensures that workers maintain a high level of decorum, orderliness, and safety in the process of carrying out work assignments at all times.
- Coordinates and assigns tasks in the yellow iron shop, Material Recovery Facility fixed equipment and for the facility
- Maintains / orders parts & supplies, maintains records of purchases & communicates with Division Management
- Ensures all company purchasing process are adhered to at all times
- Monitors work flow and ensures tasks are completed in a timely manner and to company standards
- Administers DOT, AQMD, Storm Water and preventative maintenance programs while ensuring shop personnel are following Burrtec Safety Policies and Procedures
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local government and company standards for reliability and safety
- Any other duties/assignments that may be assigned by your manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to motivate large groups
- Must have good decision making, problem solving and communication skills
- Must have familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and databases
- Must speak both English and Spanish proficiently
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must have previous experience managing equipment maintenance, thorough knowledge Caterpillar equipment, and ensuring facility related compliance standards are met
- Previous management experience is required
- Additional certifications a plus
- Must have strong knowledge of CalOSHA related safety programs including High Heat and Lock Out / Tag Out
- Must have valid California driver’s license, required
- California Commercial drivers license, preferred
PHYSICAL:
- This position requires that the individual walk, sit, stand, touch, stoop, lift, and move heavy objects in all weather conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, rain, wind) and noise levels in the shop
